What God Has Called You To Do, Start In Your Youth

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Brother Gbile Akanni, while writing under the topic, “The Divine Interruption” in one of his books, told a story:

I was preaching somewhere and a man of about 60 years of age came and fell on the floor face down.

At the end of the meeting I asked him what the matter was. He said, “I was the man. God called me when I was about going to Grade 1 Teacher’s College. The Lord told me to go into the seminary and prepare to serve Him. I said: “God you know there is no money in the work of God, so let me first get my degree, finish my NYSC and be a principal, then I will serve you. So I did not obey God”.

Then I asked him, ‘What did you become?’ He said he was still trying to be a Principal. Meanwhile, he was just a Vice Principal somewhere.

So he was asking me “can I go now?”, I wondered if he could actually go. He was already a grandfather.

The man of God probably made that conclusion because God rarely calls a man in his old age. He called many in their usable age and he is still calling many more.

As a young man or woman, God requires your strength and not your experience. It’s the Youth who sees visions; dream is meant for the old. Vision is an exclusive right of the Youth.

God did not call any of the old men we know today as God’s Generals in their old age; He called them in their youth – Pastors Ukpai, Adeboye, Kumuyi, Okonkwo, Oyedepo, Abiara, Wale-Oke, Olubi, Adejumo etc

Your Youth is your strength; your Youth is your relevance.

The glory of the young is their strength; the gray hair of experience is the splendor of the old (Proverbs 20:29 NLT)

Whatever God has called you to do, start while you are young and strong. The night time is coming when no man can work. Don’t waste your morning waiting on the night.

We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work (John 9:4 NLT)
