His Grace Works Best in My Weakness

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me – 2Corinthians 12:9

There are times in our lives when we feel we are better than anyone else just because things are working out to our advantage. At such times of strength, we are tempted to rely on your own strength, thinking we are sufficient in ourselves. However, it is when we are weak that God gives us His strength to help us through.

Weakness allows you to cast all your cares on Jesus. If there is an area of your life where you are struggling, God’s grace is available for that area of need. Just like Paul, glory in your weakness and bask on His grace. Ephesians 3:20 makes it explicitly clear that His mighty power is at work within you – “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”

Your weakness becomes an advantage when seen in God’s light – “…God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.”

Action Point: (Prayer) Lord, you shine brighter when I am weaker. Help me to remember this Lord and not become discouraged or frustrated when I find myself struggling.
